| While creative writing and workshops take up a significant portion of my time, there are other activities, equally important -- perhaps more so, in which I invest time and attention. Since 1990, I've worked as a volunteer advocate in the field of sexual assault victim assistance. More recently, that work has also led to my involvement with women who are dealing with or recovering from intimate partner violence.
